Readers decide in about a second, usually from a thumbnail on a phone. Your cover has to say "this is your kind of book" instantly. We research your genre's bestsellers first, then design a cover that fits the shelf and still stands out.

Why good books end up with covers that don't sell
"My cover looks nice — so why isn't it selling?"
"Nice" isn't the brief. A thriller cover that looks like a romance attracts the wrong readers and loses the right ones. Covers sell by signalling genre fast: typography, colour and imagery that match what readers of that category already buy.
"Can I just use Canva or an AI image?"
You can, but readers increasingly spot generic templates and AI art, and some AI images carry licensing risk. The bigger problem is typography — most DIY covers fail at thumbnail size because the title becomes unreadable.
"KDP rejected my cover. What went wrong?"
Almost always: the wrong spine width for the final page count, missing bleed, text too close to the edge, or low resolution. We build each file from your exact page count and check it against platform specs.
"I'm writing a series — should I design all the covers now?"
You don't need to design them all, but you should plan the series look now: a type system, colour logic and layout that make book two obviously belong with book one.

Based on Amazon KDP's published paper-thickness figures. IngramSpark calculates spine width slightly differently, so we generate a separate template for each. Always confirm your final page count after formatting.
Covers are quoted per project. A custom cover from an experienced designer typically costs several hundred to a couple of thousand dollars across the market; we'll give you a fixed price after your brief.
How we protect your book, your money and your rights
Authors are right to be careful — the industry has plenty of companies that over-promise. Here's exactly how we work.
Your accounts stay in your name
Your KDP, IngramSpark and ACX accounts are created in your name, so royalties are paid straight to you.
Milestone payments
You pay in stages tied to work you have seen and approved, never the whole fee up front for large projects.
You own everything
Copyright, files and ISBNs (when you buy your own) belong to you. You receive editable source files.
No sales guarantees
Anyone who guarantees bestseller status or sales is guessing. We give you honest forecasts and the reasoning behind them.
Written scope before you pay
A plain-English agreement lists deliverables, revision rounds and dates, so nothing is left to memory.
Independent, not "Amazon"
We are an independent author-services team. We never claim to be Amazon, KDP or any retailer.

What authors say about working with us
“The designer understood the genre instantly — dark, tense, and impossible to scroll past. Readers mention the cover in reviews.”
JJames R.Thriller · Print & digital
“I gave the designer a mood board, a colour idea and two lines about my story. What came back captured my novel completely. Sales picked up the week I switched covers.”
PPatricia O.Literary fiction · Print & digital
“Three books, one series, one dedicated designer. The covers look incredible side by side on my author page.”

FAQ
Book Cover Design: your questions, answered
What files will I receive?
A high-resolution eBook cover (JPG, 1600 × 2560 px or larger), a print-ready PDF wraparound with bleed for each platform you use, a 3D mockup for marketing, and editable source files.
How many revisions do I get?
At least two full revision rounds on single covers, and more on premium and series packages. The goal is simple: you should love the cover before it goes to print.
Can you design a cover before my book is finished?
Yes — the front cover can be designed early. The print wraparound needs your final page count for the spine, so we finish that after formatting.
Do you use AI-generated art?
No. We use original illustration or properly licensed stock photography, and you get the licence details. That protects you from copyright problems later.
Will my cover meet KDP and IngramSpark requirements?
Yes. We build to each platform's template for your trim size, paper and page count, and check bleed, safe zones, resolution and barcode placement before delivery.
Do I own my cover?
You get full rights to use the final design for your book and its marketing. Any licensed stock images remain under their licence terms, which we pass on to you.
Pick the question closest to your situation. You'll get a straight answer here — and you can take it further with your own AI assistant if you'd like a second opinion.
Usually typography: too many fonts, titles that are too small, or effects like bevels and glows. Stretched or low-resolution images and ignoring genre conventions are the other big giveaways.
Both. It should fit the genre enough that the right reader recognises it, with one distinctive element that makes it memorable. Standing out in the wrong direction costs sales.
For Kindle, 1600 × 2560 px is the recommended minimum. For paperbacks, the size depends on trim, paper and page count — use our calculator for exact dimensions.
Start while your book is being edited. You can use the front cover for pre-orders and marketing early, then finish the spine and back once formatting is done.
Often yes — a cover refresh is one of the cheapest ways to relaunch a book. But check the description, price and reviews too; the cover isn't always the problem.
